I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota. After years in social work, government service and as a social work professor in Minnesota, I relocated to northern California just in time for the earthquake! After subsequent years in association management for the American Academy of Ophthalmology in San Francisco, I entered the financial services industry, becoming an Investment Advisor Representative with a local John Hancock agency, and was active in worksite Long-Term Care Program administration. In due time, I focused on compliance and became an Agency Standards Manager with a large New York Life Insurance agency in San Jose. I retired from corporate life in 2021.
I continue to support my wife and co-founding partner, Karen Marblestone Perry, with her complex business in long-term care insurance. Many adult children are preparing for their own retirement while coping with the care-giving situations of their parents. Disabilities, chronic health conditions and cognitive impairments affect ALL family members, and planning for the support of family caretakers is a paramount concern.
